The goal of our Education and Community Outreach program is to end violence and abuse. We aim to prevent and disrupt the cycle of violence by raising awareness and educating everyone in our Santa Cruz County community.

Education

Our team is dedicated to raising awareness and educating our community in an effort to prevent violence. The prevention team concentrates on reaching out to our community through workshops, trainings, presentations, social media, and events. Our focus is to increase understanding of healthy relationships with peers, friends, and partners. We offer trainings, workshops, and presentations on various topics in English and Spanish. Community Education

Monarch Services provides educational presentations to community members, colleges, community organizations and service providers in Santa Cruz County. Presentations provide information about domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and agency services. Topics include:

Youth Violence Prevention Education

Our team provides presentations and workshops to youth of all ages at any school, youth group, or club. Additionally, the youth violence prevention program uses a primary prevention approach to conduct positive youth-centered workshops. Workshops tend to be an hour long covering a variety of topics. The workshops provide information and, most importantly, prepare the youth to understand real life scenarios and apply what they have learned in the real world. Workshop topics include:

  • Domestic Violence and Domestic Violence Effects on Children
  • Power and Control
  • What is Consent
  • Bullying
  • Bystander Intervention
  • Social Media Safety

Community Outreach

Monarch Services tables at any community event, fair, school event, etc. We are dedicated to providing agency services information and specific information of domestic violence, sexual assault and/or human trafficking.
