Janna Rivas

Janna comes to Monarch Services with over 15 years of experience in direct service work in nonprofit settings, human resources and customer service. Janna has been with Monarch Services for 4 years, beginning as an On-Call advocate supporting the crisis line. She began working at the Mariposa House at the beginning of March 2020 and fell in love with working with the clients at the shelter, which sparked her interest in the program manager position. Janna is also a facilitator of Monarch's Positive Solutions program. Janna graduated Summa Cum Laude from California State University Monterey Bay with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a minor in Social Work.

Janna finds great joy in spending time with her three children and her partner, spending time near the ocean, planning travel and making delicious meals. She is deeply moved by music and the commitment she sees in the families she works with to break cycles of violence and abuse.
